Platstack's Privacy Policy

Platstack’s mission is to help digital consumers save, organize, share, and explore the best content on the web. To do that, we offer an application which lets you sort your open tabs, and view content and ads. To personalize your experience, we collect information from you and third parties where we have a proper legal basis for doing so.

At Platstack, we’re committed to protecting your privacy and respecting digital boundaries. This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) will help you better understand how your personal information is collected, processed, and handled with care and respect.

What information do we collect?

To give you the best and most personalized experience possible, we collect a few types of information from you:

Personal Information: When you sign up for Platstack, you voluntarily input personal information, including but not limited to your name, email address, profile photo, links, bookmarks, and short bio. If you link your account with Facebook, Google, or other third-party services, we will get information from those accounts, such as your friends and contacts. The information they provide is dependent on their privacy policies, so it’s important to read up on what you’ve agreed to on each platform.
Technical information: Using any kind of website or application automatically generates and logs certain information.

At Platstack, we collect:
  • Log data, which includes details about your browser, Internet Protocol address, the address of the activity on the websites you visit and incorporate into Platstack’s stacks or parking lot features, searches, dates and times of each request, cookie data, and device data.

  • Cookie data, which are small text files sent by your computer when you visit the website, such as session cookies (which remain until you close your browser) or persistent cookies (which are there until you delete them). Cookies track things like language preferences and other preferences, which allows us to give you a more personalized experience.

  • Device data to better understand what type of device you’re using, the operating system, settings, and crash data. This information helps us continue to make upgrades, which will help avoid future glitches and bugs.

Partner information: We work with partners, advertisers, and affiliates. Some of these third parties will share information with us to help measure and improve your end experience, such as which ads we show you. For example, some third-party services will share with us information about when you’ve visited their website or which products you’ve viewed on their website.

What do we do with your information?

The information we collect helps us improve the service you receive from us. Some information allows us to personalize the suggested stacks and people for you to follow. Other information allows us to communicate better with you about your account, provide you security updates, and give you more information about the Services rendered with Platstack. Your data helps us manage your email subscription preferences and provide relevant information to you on our website and in our marketing communications.

Collected information fuels our interest in improving Platstack and maintaining a strong relationship with you, the end user. We’re able to do that by recommending people and stacks, which align with your similar interests, helping your friends and contacts find your public stacks or follow you, conducting analytics about who and how people are using Platstack, developing new features, sending you critical updates, and working with law enforcement to keep the platform safe.

We also use your personal, technological, and partner information to decide which ads you will see, customize the recommended content, relay analytics to our Platstack ad partners about their specific ad performance, and inform our partners about the types of products you might be interested in.
How do we protect your information?

Security is paramount at Platstack. We take a variety of security precautions to keep your data safe. All supplied information is transmitted under the appropriate safeguards, including via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. When it’s stored in our database, it’s encrypted, making it accessible only by those with special access rights.

How can you access and control your personal data?

While we only collect the information we believe will provide you with a personal and meaningful experience on Platstack, we do have an option to let you access and manage what you share with us. You may edit your information in your profile at any time by doing the following: 1) link or unlink your account from other social networks, 2) toggle your stacks from public to private, 3) opt-out of marketing communications using the opt-out link in your email or by visiting your dashboard, or 4) close your account.

Outside of our platform, you can make adjustments by controlling cookies and other types of data storage within your web browser. On your mobile device, you can choose how and whether your location, photos, and other data is shared with us. If you ever have questions about any of these privacy options, please let us know.

Third-Party links

Your public boards are viewable and accessible by any Platstack user. We also make this information available to our partners using APIs, which allows us to share your information with third parties. The third parties we could share your information with include other services, such as Facebook and Google if you link your account, online advertisers, our partners, third party companies or individuals, law enforcement, and/or our wholly owned subsidiaries and affiliates.

When we no longer need your data, we will take all legal and regulatory obligations to purge our system of our data or depersonalize it so you are no longer identifiable.
